'Nomex' aramid paper is a Class C (220°C) dielectric insulator, mainly used in systems operating at high ambient temperatures. The insulation system based on 'Nomex' paper is distinguished by a service life of more than 20,000 operating hours at 220°C, which can be clearly seen in the consumption graphs of the insulation materials.
Nomex® - properties
The use of 'Nomex' aramid paper significantly reduces the number of electrical machine failures and minimises the likelihood of them occurring. In addition, 'Nomex' protects machines from the occurrence of electrical overloads. The aramid paper 'Nomex' is also distinguished by its resistance to cryogenic temperatures, moisture, radiation and fire and the non-toxic fumes it causes.
'Nomex’ has been classified as a Class C (220°C) insulator by Underwriters Laboratories (ref. no. E34739) and all other leading certifying bodies.
Nomex® is a registered trademark of DuPont.
